Microinvest

Read from and post to Microinvest accounting databases straight from n8n workflows.

How it works in practice

Payments and invoices posted straight into the books

How we apply it

In the three-robot programme for a Bulgarian accounting firm, invoices post themselves and about 90% of bank transactions reconcile and post without an accountant, straight into each client company's Microinvest database.

This node gives n8n a structured, searchable interface to the SQL Server databases behind Microinvest accounting software, which most Bulgarian companies and accounting firms use. Workflows can look up and create counterparties, post accounting entries with debit and credit lines, register payments against invoices, pull turnover reports and the chronological journal, and run data-quality checks. Databases are discovered from the SQL Server instance, so one workflow can serve many client databases, and multi-row results come back as one n8n item per row.

There is no n8n integration for Microinvest, and the usual alternative is a person re-keying bank movements and supplier invoices. The node adds what makes bulk posting safe: searchable dropdowns for accounts, companies, documents, terms and banks, fuzzy company matching, find-or-create for references and terms so duplicates do not pile up, and a Show SQL mode on Add Accounting that previews the statement instead of running it.

It is the second most used of our nodes, in 41 production workflows: posting bank-statement movements and supplier invoices as entries, registering customer payments against open invoices, creating counterparties from Commercial Register data, and producing journals and turnover reports across client databases at month end. Helper queries find invoices without a company record and companies with a duplicated or invalid Bulstat before a VIES declaration.

Limits: the node talks to the SQL Server database directly, not through a vendor API, so it depends on the schema of the Microinvest version in use. Try new posting logic on a copy of the database first, with Show SQL.

For your technical team: it installs from npm as

What it means for you

  • Nobody re-keys entries one by one

  • It works with the accounting software the firm already uses

  • Duplicates are caught before anything is posted
